Saha is developing into a large industrial centre situated on the map of Haryana. With the purpose of the development of the higher education, Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Saha (Ambala) a great achievement of the people of this area. A great need was felt related to this college for providing higher education to the students of this area. The long felt need of the people of the area was fulfilled by the village Panchayat Saha when it stepped in by donating 7.5 acres of land for building this college.
Honourable Ch. Phool Chand Maulana, the former education minister, Haryana inaugurated the college on 16th, April, 2006. On this great occasion Ms. Shailja, the hounourable member and central cabinet minister and Sh. Phool Chand Maulana, former education minister, while giving representation to the people of this area, expressed their gratitude to the honourable chief minister of Haryana, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda for giving his support to such work of welfare.
The college is situated at the national highway 17km away from Ambala Cantt. 35kms from Jagadhari, 18kms from Shahbad Markhanda and 18kms from Shahzadpur. For the first three sessions, the college classes were held at the premises of the old Plywood factory of Saha. From this session of 2009-10, the classes have been commenced in the new building. The students belonging to backward classes from the economic point of view have got a golden opportunity to achieve the qualitative education at low cost. The college is a kind of blessing for the parents of the girl students who were unable to send them to the surrounding cities for getting education.
